Requiem for the Romanian Peasant

Peasants and Communism

 During the period 26 January - 26 February, at the Museum of the Union, one can visit the exhibition "Requiem for the Romanian Peasant. Peasants and Communism” created by the International Center of Study of the Communism, within the  Memorial of the Victims of Communism and of Resistence – Civic Academy Foundation, in partnership with  "Moldova" National Museum Complex and the French Cultural Center of  Iasi, at the Museum of the Union. The exhibition was created in order to mark the anniversary in March 2009 of 60 years since the start of agricultural collectivisation and presents in archive documents, photographs of the epoch and testimonies of oral history the Romanian rural world disappeared under the  communist regime.
