The Series of Events Dedicated to 24 January
The Celebration of the Union of the Romanian Principalities
"Moldova” Museum Complex in Iasi announces the organization during the period 22 – 24 January 2010, of a cycle of events dedicated to the Union of the Romanian Principalities sustained at the Museum of the Union on 14, Lapusneanu Str. In this context, on Friday, 22 January, at 10.00 there shall take place in the Hall of the Double Election the official opening of the works of the 5th edition of the National Symposium the Union of the Romanian Principalities, organized by ”Moldova” National Museum Complex, the Romanian Academy – ”A. D. Xenopol” Institute of History, the County Direction for Culture, Religious Affairs and National Cultural Heritage of Iasi, ”Al. I. Cuza” University – Faculty of History, followed at 11.00, by the launching of the volume Memorii, author Nichita Smochina, edited by Vlad Galin – Corini, Editura Academiei Romane, 2009, and at 17.00 the launching of the volume Toti in unu. Unirea Principatelor la 150 de ani, Editura Junimea, 2009, coordinators prof. Dumitru Ivanescu and prof. Dumitru Vitcu . On Saturday, 23 January, starting with 10.00 in the Hall of the Double Election there shall take place the metamuseum event In unire sta puterea! organized in collaboration with the ”Paradis” School and Kindergarden of Iasi. On Sunday, 24 January, at 9.00, in the Hall of the Double Election there shall be organized the opening of the exhibition Genere et Corde Fratres. De la Ordinul Unirii la Steaua Romaniei displaying the set of medals offered to the Museum of the Union by the Presidential Administration at the end of 2009. The chamber concert Armonii peste timp sustained starting with 17.00 by pupils of the ”Octav Băncilă” Fine Arts National High School and students of ”George Enescu” Fine Arts University of Iasi, having as special guest the soprano Simona Titieanu, of the National Romanian Opera of Iasi, shall close the cycle of events celebrating the Union of the Romanian Principalities.
